Bronze cup full of Sun

Icelandic Poppy
All the sunshine in one place, caught in the cup of this poppy.

Rained again today but brightened up this afternoon :D

black eyes are a good thing

Rudbeckia

With all the rainy days we've had, maybe it's time to make my own sunny spots. Black eyed susans remind me of bright, hot, lazy, summer days!
In case you're curious, this is how it went...

Sunny

Poppy Solo

I forget what sunny looks like. We had some sun yesterday but it rained again and wiped that moment out. I did get to see a poppy or two before they closed up again.
This is one!

WATERcolor

Sun Up

The Challenge this month for Watercolors WetNWild was water, as a liquid. This is my response...although I have a couple more in progress.

Pump it Up

Pump it Up

Just a few steps from my work table this pump hovers over a pot of flowers. Wouldn't it be a great way to water the plant? Well the pump isn't hooked up so the plant needs to be watered like all the rest...

wild thing

Wild Thing
My neighbor has a wild rose that isn't usually noticeable. The sunlight hit it just right and it wouldn't be ignored!

what's down?

Vinca
Covering ground is this periwinkle. It happens to be the one with a variegated leaf and seems to grow "taller" than the plain one. The flower seems larger, too. I love the flowers...

what's up?

in the palms
Just a little light reflected off the palms...yup, I have escaped to warmer weather (in my mind) since it seems to be rainy and cool here.
So many of the things running through my brain have jumped out onto little pieces of paper and are in various stages of "not done" on my table.
Just love having lots of work!
Thanks for stopping by...

Let me take you on little trip under the sea where the sponges and coral are a playground for fishes. There's just a touch of sparkle on this one courtesy of LuminArte sparkling H2O colors.

dreaming of the simple life?

Country Life

Maybe it got too crowded in the city or you are suffering from sensory overload? Head for some wide open spaces (a few still exist) and enjoy a simpler existence.

potraiture?

in my face
Time for a change...where have I heard that?

Here's a formal portrait in memory of a dear friend and companion Tomorrow my red eared slider. At least I caught him with his mouth closed and eyes open.

He didn't exactly snore but did greet me with a breathy "AAH".

Big Moon Rising...

Moon Rising
Looking for a "little" fun and a change led me to this painting. The moon isn't really that close, it's just an illusion.

Paint by theme?

california poppies
The eBay ACEO Group Theme Week subject is "wildflowers" this month. The first thing that came to mind were these orange/yellow poppies. They pop up everywhere, even in rock crevices. Most definitely sun lovers, they close up for the Oregon rain and open as soon as the sun hits.

Knowing that they reseed themselves and come back year after year, I've optimistically strewn seed in some areas in my yard. They will most assuredly be "sun spots"!
