Counting down to Christmas? I am...just hoping I'll get it all done in time.
No wicked weather to cope with at the moment, just cooking, baking, and wrapping to fill my days.

A Small Town Christmas

It's almost here and I'm still not ready! I love the small town Christmas feeling. All the homes and businesses decorate for the Holidays and there's something beautiful to look at on each street.

Wishing you all the Happiest Christmas and all the best in the New Year!

It may be a little hectic but it's my favorite time of year.

Thanks for checking in, see you later!

A Time Gone By

Why is it that the Christmas Season each year causes me to reminisce about all the Christmas celebrations past? Certainly childhood ones were full of excitement and wonder, not to mention a ton of snow!
Each Christmas has it's special moments to remember. Many of those memories had little to do with gifts given or received but were more about family and friends that are no longer available to create new memories. Just hanging an ornament on the tree or placing a pinecone wreath or needlepoint picture brings me back to a time gone by.
I hope you will enjoy this season and every moment of the preparation as well!
See you soon!

Grandmother's House

It's where we're headed for traditional family festivities on Christmas Eve...the tree is up but needs to be decorated. We can all reminisce as we place the lights, hang our ornaments and discuss the benefits of tinsel icicles placed one at a time on the branches. Hot chocolate or egg nog to drink...how is it that all that fun has a bazillion calories and a touch of fat? Gotta bulk up to keep warm? Oh My!

Through the Wood

It's all about Christmas and getting ready for Christmas Eve! Will be with family and making sure the grandkids get something they really want! There'll be food favorites for us to enjoy as well. Hoping you all are healthy and eagerly preparing to enjoy the Holidays.

Slow Going

So much to do and I seem to be slow going at it. Before long the holidays will be here and I am so not ready! Must admit the new grandbaby has distracted me but how enjoyable is that? A little miracle and beautiful as well!
Really focused on the winter season, as much as I dislike dealing with cold and snow in reality, I love painting it!
"Over the River..." and well on the way to the Christmas Season! Wishing you all the best, health happiness and the warmth of family and friends gathered together to celebrate.
See you later...

Back Home

Back home and here's "Toasty Warm by the Fire" . So glad that I'm not living with snow...it's beautiful to look at and really gives a clean look to the surroundings but I'm not ready for the cold temperature that goes with it!

Still catching up with all the chores I've missed while away and trying to pick up those brushes and create as well.
Hope you are all well and preparing to enjoy a Happy Thanksgiving!
Catch you later...

Fall Colors and Volcanoes

Heading to the land of vivid fall colors, I hope I haven't missed the peak!

I'm sure I'll be busy playing with a new baby and catching up with new houses and many other changes but I really want to capture a few shots of foliage.
The weather here is perfect, sunny and warmer, no rain! Who could ask for a better fall day. Even clear enough to capture Mt St Helens and Mt Hood in the distance. Yes, it snowed on the mountains...just beautiful!

What a gorgeous day!

Travel in my future...

Just love to travel...will be off quite soon:>) Not too sure there will be any material for painting, I live in hope. Visiting family and catching up with all that is new with them. Lots of changes happened this year. I will have the opportunity to enjoy cider and some crisp tart apples! Am hoping for some crisp and cool fall days, as well.

Have an excellent day!

A Good Day at the Beach

Any day is in Oregon, although it's really been a challenge of late. I this most recent case the umbrella isn't to provide some shade. It may be time to seek shelter but the surf is wild and beautiful and quite hypnotic.
See you later!

Snow Fascination

At this moment I am fascinated by snow-scapes. I'm quite sure it's a passing thing and will be over soon after my first real encounter.
First snow is quite beautiful and signals a rest for the earth and flora.
Hibernation could be a good thing if faced with bitter cold and lack of food source.
So glad to have heat and grocery stores :>)
Hoping to work on a little stormy beach and some flowers to break things up...
Wishing all a healthy, happy, productive day!

Starting out...

Been thinking of starting this forever and thought I'd finally give it a shot. Watercolors are my addiction. Just can't make it through a day without a brush in my hand.
Each time the season changes or some thing catches my eye, even produce at the grocery store, the urge to paint takes over.

Miniature paintings have been a pleasure to create. A piece of original art
measuring 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches can be placed anywhere. Propped on an easel, in a magnet frame, in an album or matted and framed and hung on the wall. It's an affordable way for everyone to collect and display art.

The weather is changing and there will not be any summer days at the beach for quite awhile. Actually, last week I took a little side trip to the coast and got nailed by wind and rain. It was beautiful, just not a sunbathing opportunity.

I'm thinking it will be good material for a painting, I'll let you know how it turns out.
